The Barn started life as part of a classic farmstead that Lawrence purchased in 2021, nestled in the heart of North Yorkshire. Fast forward to 2022, when planning permission was granted to replace the old, crumbling farmhouse with two beautifully designed new homes — Pasture Cottages, which you can view here. But we didn’t stop there. The real gem of the project was the transformation of the old grain barn into something truly special.

From day one, the goal was clear: to create a home with minimal environmental impact while celebrating the beauty of the original structure. We poured time, effort, and a little bit of heart into every detail to ensure top-tier thermal performance and airtightness, and the result? An impressive Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) A rating, proving that sustainability doesn’t have to come at the cost of style or comfort.
